Step-by-Step Guide
  • Assume Thunderbolt Pose. Bend slightly forward and assume Hero Pose.
  • Hold your feet with your hands.
  • Place your forearms on the floor and bend backwards.
  • Release the hands one by one and place your back on the floor.
  • Bring your hands above your heads on the floor. Hold your right shoulder with your left hand and left shoulder with your right hand.
  • Hold the pose for 30 seconds. With practice, increase the duration to one minute.
  • To come out of the pose, hold your feet and lift yourself up keeping the forearms firmly on the floor.
Note

Those who find it difficult to lie on the back can place a folded blanket or yoga block behind and lie down on the same.

If ankles hurt, you can place a folded blanket or yoga block under the ankles.

Those with severe knee and hip problems should refrain from practicing the pose.
