Before we proceed with learning how to perform various mudras and their benefits, here are some important points to note.

1) Can mudra be practiced by all regardless of their age?

Mudra can be practiced by all over 6 years of age. However, it is recommended to practice selective mudras only up to 12 years. There is no upper age limit to practice mudra.

2) When can we perform mudras?

The ideal time to practice mudras is in the early morning. However, mudras can be practiced in the afternoon, evening and night. It is highly recommended to stick to a time schedule for optimum benefits.

3) Since various mudras offer different benefits, can we practice multiple mudras in a day?

You can perform two to three mudras a day. Some gurus suggest performing six to eight mudras a day. However, it is best recommended to assess the root cause of any ailment and perform mudra to eliminate the root cause. For example, a person experiencing digestive issues and headache should perform mudra for digestive issues so headache caused by digestive disorders gets cured.

4) Should we perform mudras on empty stomach?

Mudras should be performed on empty stomach. Perform mudras after having a glass of water. Maintain half an hour interval between consumption of coffee and mudra practice. Mudras can be performed after three hours of having your food.

5) Can we eat immediately after practicing mudras?

You need to wait for about ten minutes to have your food after practicing mudras.

6) Can we perform mudras sitting on the floor?

Mudras can be performed sitting on the floor. You can also sit on a mat that conducts electricity while practicing mudras. Those who find it difficult to sit on the floor can sit on chair with their feet on the floor to perform mudras. Those with severe health conditions can perform mudras lying on the bed. In case of a busy work schedule, you can perform the mudras while walking or traveling. Keep your back and head straight while performing mudras.

7) Can we perform mudras during menstrual cycle?

Yes, mudras can be practiced during menstrual cycle.
